Our New Home: The First Few Days

To say that we're enjoying our new home would be an understatement.
We've only been here a couple days and already we're adjusted and so happy!
I thought that it might take awhile for the girls to settle in to the new surroundings and the big size of the house, but the first day here they were completely content.
They've actually been sleeping longer and Viv has hardly had a single tantrum.
It's so nice to have a big space to live in rather than the tiny apartment that we were so used to for so long.
Viv plays outside and has so much space inside to run and play.
I already don't know how we survived before without a basement!

We've been doing a lot of work since we moved in so things aren't really settled yet.
The colors in the house were all very dark, they were nice, but just not really my style so we've been painting non-stop.
I decided to go with white everywhere in the house, I love the crisp, clean brightness that it brings.
we're almost done with the first floor of the house and then next week we'll be working on the upstairs.

I'm so excited to start unpacking more things and decorating!
I live for decorating and creating things so I am in heaven right now.
I started a few projects today that are going to be so great.
Creating is so healing and relaxing for me.

I'm so thankful for this season in our life.
This new chapter for the girls.
Life is exciting right now and I couldn't be happier.
I can't wait to start getting ready for decorate for the holidays over the next few weeks and start having family and friends over for parties and play dates and tea.

Life is simple and so, so beautiful.

Our Home For Christmas: Part 2

Our Home For Christmas: Part 1

There's something magical about curling up under a Christmas tree with all your cozy blankets, candles, and  favorite books and spending hours with the ones you love.
Even though Viv won't remember these times, I will, and she'll have pictures to look back on.
It's a special time for us and we're loving every minute of the holidays!

Home Inspiration: DIY Wreaths

Since we're going to be moving in a couple weeks to a bigger (and much better) apartment, I'm going to start incorporating some home design ideas and inspiration to my blog. My creative mind has been reeling for a month now with paint colors, DIY projects, design, etc. Now that I'm not working I'm totally going to be working on multiple different projects to make our new apartment our home. Where we are now hasn't been the "homiest"  of places thanks to our awful neighbors below us, the fact that we can't paint our stark white walls and the air vents splurt out black smoke. With me having been working full-time since we got married I never really had time to turn our apartment into a "settled" place - it always felt like I knew we were going to be moving in September and I can't wait to get out of here so why go to all the work of making it feel like we're going to be staying. But now...I am SO motivated to move into our new place. It feels like more of a home than an apartment. It's spaced out so that it feels much larger than it is - and we can paint and do whatever we want!
So with that said, one of my many obsessions right now are DIY wreaths. It's a simple and small project to start with and it's something that I can make 2 or 3 different ones and place them in different places.
Here are some wreths that I found on pinterest that I just LOVE.

I can't wait to get started!

P.S.
Tomorrow is my birthday!
20!
