Storytime

Yesterday I spent an hour or so sitting on the floor of what is soon going to be the baby nursery.
I unpacked all of the children's books that we've acquired over the past few months and just enjoyed looking at all the pictures, reading bits and pieces, and imagining that Viv was there to read to.
It was a lovely time I had with myself.
Anyway, most of the books that we have I got at a local library book sale over the summer.
They're all like new and most all of them are even hardcover!
(making sure I stuck my nose inside every one to make sure there were no unpleasant odors)

(That's what we have so far. Any of the Eric Carle, most of the Dr. Seuss, and any other "commonly known" books have been swiped from my mom. Sorry, Mom!)

The only thing is is that they're all just random books that I've never heard of before.
This is good and bad.
Good because it's going to be fun to read all these new stories to our girl and our other future kiddos. They're going to be what they grow up with.
Bad because I still want all the Classics - you know, all the Little Golden Books, Beatrix Potter, Guess How Much I Love You...I still want to buy all the stories that I grew up with!

So with that said, I thought it would be fun to make a list of some the books that we still want to get to add to Vivienne's collection:

Now, this first one is purely just because I want it
Not because it's a classic must-have.

Just Being Audrey - Margaret Cardillo

The Velveteen Rabbit - Margery Williams

Little Golden Books
(there are so many more that I just love too)

The Complete Tales of Peter Rabbit - Beatrix Potter

Where The Wild Things Are - Maurice Sendak

Blueberries for Sal - Robert McCloskey

I could list books all day!
I would love to know what some of your favorite children's stories are!
Any recommendations?
